Hi everyone! I am home from my training in Florida! I learned a lot…
Most of my training was on scent work and public access. Erin taught me how to “chill”, alert to blood sugars that are out of range, and walk through different types of stores. Shopping carts were really scary but I am working through that. Erin and mom said I am doing better.
When mom came to pick me up, we went to Walmart and Tractor Supply. I got to work with mom on heeling, staying and paying attention to mom at all times. That is really hard – there is so many people and smells to investigate! There are some scary people and other dogs at Walmart.
Mom, grandma and I got to meet my tailor, Mary. She is such a nice lady who makes great service dog vests. My mom ordered a summer weight mesh vest in dark blue and silver. I am excited to have a cooler vest for summer!
I went to church on Sunday morning and got to say goodbye to my friends who pet me every Sunday while I was there. Monday morning, we left for the 18 hour drive home. I got a great nap and so did my brother, Snook.
Now I am learning to adjust to mom’s work schedule and to the places she goes, since many of them are new to me. New places make me nervous but mom says I am good boy and we will get to a point where I am happy to go with her wherever she goes.
