Just chillin’
Duke is an American Black Lab = high energy! He is constantly on-the-go and just can’t settle himself. In order to be a good service dog, he needs to learn to chill and just lay still.
At first, I thought, he is still a puppy, so he will have lots of energy. Come to find out, he is a high energy breed and will be that way for a long time in the future. Once he has his “man surgery”, that may help settle him a bit.
Duke is learning how to lay still. He is making great progress and will continue to work on this. It will help when waiting his turn, when relaxing and taking it easy at home. In order to get this calm, he will need exercise first! We will figure out what type of exercise and how long as he gets through his training and acclimates back home.
