Hey everyone, it’s Duke! Me, Snook and Mom have been so busy lately! We are sorry for the delay in posting an update. Mom has been working lots and I have been working on my public access skills, we did professional pictures together and much more…

Here’s a few highlights from the last couple weeks:

We all went to Walgreen’s for mom to get her flu shot. I did really good with that errand, laying down and waiting patiently! Mom got to meet a gentleman and his wife while we waited. They got to talking and found out that he was deaf and had just lost his service dog due to cancer. Snook picked up on the man getting emotional and just looked at him and wagged his tail. I don’t know how Snook does that but I suppose I will learn about that later.

Mom and Snook (and grandma) participated in a craft show in Nevada, IA. They raised a good amount which will go toward my training expenses. I didn’t go with them because it would have been a lot for me with all the people, noises, smells and having to stay in one place for two long days. I hope to be able to go next year.

While we were at Kohl’s, we stopped at the restroom before leaving. The big stall was out of order so Snook laid outside the door with the leash around mom’s foot and I went in the tiny stall with her. I didn’t like how cramped this was! When mom was done, I didn’t wait for her to open the door – I just crawled out under the door. Mom, don’t make me go in the tiny one again, please!!!

The last updates involve me getting more comfortable around men. I met a few guys at mom’s side job, I got to see Shawn at church and the furnace inspection guy came to our house. These guys were okay and I wasn’t scared of them! I love Shawn – he is my buddy and I get more comfortable with him each time. The furnace inspection guy was really nice! He got down on his knee and said hi to me. I wasn’t scared at all. Mom says I am getting better and she was proud of me!

That’s all for this post! Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and I can’t wait for Christmas in a little over three weeks!
